PassSecurium™ Password Manager: Comparison of Premium and Corporate subscriptions
Whilst most of the features are the same, there are a number of important differences which are worthy of note.
The feature lists of the PassSecurium™ Premium and Corporate are pretty similar, which is good news for Premium users who can benefit from the wide range of advanced password management features. Some vendors that offer tiered business subscriptions limit the lower tiers to less functional and convenient solutions, while our offering is comprehensive and fair. What's more, you won't be short changed by our Сorporate subscription, which includes additional features that really make a difference.
So, who are our subscriptions best for?
PassSecurium™ Premium is perfect for small distributed teams, family businesses, medium sized companies that don't have advanced user management and data access control systems in place. The application can be accessed via a browser, mobile app, desktop, and the mobile app offers an offline mode so that all team members will be able to manage passwords at their convenience.
PassSecurium™ Corporate is suitable for medium and large companies that utilise Active Directory (Microsoft AD, LDAP/AD) for user management and data access or Microsoft Entra ID as a single sign-on service. Our password manager can be integrated with the mentioned above software to seamlessly add an extra layer of security to the corporate IT system.
What do they have in common?
General password management features:
- Unlimited records (passwords, bank cards/accounts, ID cards, customer cards, licences, server credentials, email settings), you can also add text descriptions and attach files to records.
- Folder management with different access permissions, assigning folders to user groups.
- Variety of clients to access PassSecurium™ (mobile, web, desktop, browser extension), offline mode for mobile apps.
- History management (restore deleted items, undo previous edits).
- VPN access for an additional layer of security.
Administrative features:
- Access to the PassSecurium™ log (the list of activities of all PassSecurium™ users) and its retention.
- Management of permissions for different user roles, access permissions for different clients, 2-factor authentication.
- Customizable password security levels (Low, Medium, High, Strong) to set minimum requirements for each of them (so that users are forced to follow the requirements when creating and saving their passwords in PassSecurium™).
- Device access control (access/refresh token lifetime, auto logout, active session control, etc.)
- Export, import and backup features.
- User interface customisation (logo, colour scheme, background, company information).
What are the differences?
Does your company use Microsoft Entra ID as an SSO method? This will facilitate the introduction of the password manager. Since PassSecurium™ Corporate is integrated with Entra ID and users will be able to log in to the password manager in the corporate way that is already familiar to them, which reduces the rejection of the new software.
Active Directory is a comprehensive software that helps companies with numerous digital assets to centrally manage users, permissions and data access. Our PassSecurium™ Corporate password manager is compatible with Microsoft AD and custom ADs via LDAP (The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol). Many companies manage their users and data via AD, so choosing PassSecurium™ Corporate over Premium is a sensible decision that will save you time in populating PassSecurium™ with users and assigning roles to them.
User management in PassSecurium™ Premium and Corporate is different. PassSecurium™ Premium is not designed for large scale, as users are added manually by the administrator: an email is required, to which the user receives an invitation and instructions. PassSecurium™ Corporate has the same feature, but it’s meant to invite an external user to the PassSecurium™ password manager only, when it's not necessary to create an internal user via AD. The main way to create PassSecurium™ users is to add corporate users that already exist in AD. As long as a user exists in the company's AD, it is also a PassSecurium™ user.
There are 3 user roles in PassSecurium™: user, manager, and admin. Roles can be assigned by an admin when creating users, this is the case for PassSecurium™ Premium. In PassSecurium™ Corporate roles can be mapped from AD or assigned manually if needed.
User group mapping from AD is also possible in PassSecurium™ Corporate, so passwords and other assets in the PassSecurium™ password manager can be granularly assigned to the dedicated user groups.
This is the fundamental difference between Premium and Corporate. Each company can choose the option according to its needs.
As a postscript, we would like to remind you that PassSecurium™ can also be integrated with the SAP system. You can learn more about this on our website pass4sap.com.
