Integration of the PassSecurium ™ Password Manager with Azure AD
When offering Software as a Service (SaaS), vendors have to pay attention to many aspects: usability, security, management capabilities, design, integration with other applications and platforms, etc.
One of the important features of our software products is the use of Active Directory (AD) + Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) technologies to manage users and their access rights.
At first hand, let's understand and differentiate between the terms “Active Directory” and “Lightweight Directory Access Protocol”. AD is a directory services implementation, which also provides authentication functionality, group and user management, policy administration and more. LDAP is a protocol for accessing and maintaining distributed directory information services over an Internet Protocol (IP) network. In short, AD is a directory server that uses the LDAP protocol.
Our own products (Enterprise Password Manager PassSecurium™ and Enterprise Communication and Collaboration Platform SWISS SECURIUM®) are also built using AD / LDAP, and have additional security settings on the backend including two-factor authentication (2FA) and VPN access.
Nowadays numerous companies move to the cloud as part of the digitalization of their business processes. And quite often the choice of businesses falls on Microsoft Azure, which has become one of the largest commercial cloud vendors in 2020.
Taking into account the latest trends of the IT services market, we update the capabilities of our products.
To prevent our customers from having to duplicate users in their PassSecurium™ corporate password manager, our developers have added integration with Azure Active Directory. PassSecurium™ login is carried out on the Microsoft account side including all additional security settings such as 2FA. When users are removed from Azure, it also revokes access rights to the PassSecurium™ password vault. Our password manager can be seamlessly integrated into the Azure infrastructure, and it’s also possible to map user roles from Azure to PassSecurium™.
Our company offers integration of our products with other ADs with LDAP analogs as an individual solution on demand.
Business subscription PassSecurium™ Corporate includes maintaining and support for integrations with various ADs, however, a one-time payment for the development and deployment of an individual solution is calculated separately depending on the conditions of each customer.
Our protected platform SWISS SECURIUM® can also be integrated with other AD solutions.
If you have questions about integration or doubts about the implementation of our products for your company’s IT, don’t hesitate to ask them through our contact form. Our team will be happy to answer your questions!
